THE BID BUSINESS BOOSTER GRANT

Whilst we continue to have some challenging times, life and business is slowly returning to Penge.  However, please spare a thought for some of our businesses that are still unable to operate due to the nature of the sectors they work in.  We continue to do all we can to support and help all of you.

We are beginning to look at organising events such as PengeFest and Pengemas and hope that the vaccination programme and COVID restrictions allow us to hold these. New Christmas Lights are being discussed for Penge too this year, so prepare to be amazed!
Now for the BIG NEWS – we are delighted to announce.

THE BID BUSINESS BOOSTER GRANT

Penge SE20 BID is administrating this money on behalf of London Borough of Bromley and certain criteria will apply to your eligibility.  We are also tasked with providing specific information for reporting purposes and if you have any difficulty providing this we can help you.
Closing date for applications Tuesday 31st August 2021 midnight.

 

    • The BID Business Booster Grant will provide financial support to small, independent businesses within the Penge SE20  BID area.
    1. A small businesses is defined as having up to 250 employees. 
    2. An  Independent businesses is defined as having less than 5 branches across the UK
    • Only businesses that have paid their BID levy or committed to a payment plan for paying their BID levy, including discounts and write offs, will be eligible to apply. This is in recognition of the continued investment these businesses provide to the local economy. It also demonstrates a level of financial viability of these businesses. Businesses must be trading to be eligible. Those that are in administration, insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made, are not eligible for funding under this scheme.
    • Eligible businesses will be those that are on the ratings list as at the 1st April 2021 for the Penge SE20 BID area.
    • The size of the grant is dependent on the rateable value of your property – see below for details.

Up to £20,000 £450
£20,000- £30,000 £625
Over £30,000 £1500

 

Whilst we recognised that these are not on the scale of the previous grants you may have received it does go some way towards recognising the hard work and the challenges that our BID  businesses have overcome during the last 15 months.
