WINSFORD GARDENS AWARD

Penge Green Gym recently received a Keep Britain Tidy/Green Flag Innovation award for their work in Winsford Gardens. Winsford Gardens was only one of fifteen parks and green spaces to win such an award. Congratulations to them! Winsford Gardens is a green haven of peace and tranquillity on the Croydon Road, just before Aldi, and well worth a visit. If you have not been, you’re in for a treat.

The efforts of Penge Green Gym fit well into the heritage aspect of Penge life as Winsford Gardens was once a private garden which has been lovingly maintained and developed by the group. Imaginative planting, the making of park furniture, ecological awareness and careful supervision of activities make this little park something special. There is usually an Open Day during the Penge Festival in June but you can visit any time.
